Tom's History

Before becoming a well known music artist, Tom was general manager of Martin Lawrence Limited Editions for 8 years.  They became the largest fine art gallery chain in the country.
Subsequently he produced over 30 professional artist videos about some of the most popular artists of the era.  They were considered some of the best and most informative videos and helped sell millions of dollars of fine art worldwide.

Tom discovered, managed and was the agent for many artists including the well known performance artist Denny Dent in the early stages of his career.

Tom continued in the 90’s what Andy Warhol and Claes Oldenberg started in the 60’s—the immortalization of the common and familiar of our everyday existence. Emerging with a fresh new outlook on life, the introduction of Pergola’s unique Assemblage Plastique art form captured the imagination as it signaled the emergence of a bright new star into the fine art community. These innovative 3-dimensional wall sculptures captured forever the stories, icons, and products of our popular culture.

Artist Tom Pergola was one of the select group of artists by the prestigious Los Angeles County Museum Of Art, to be invited to participate in the gala art exhibition, auction and dinner titled Appetite for Art-An Evening of Art, Sex, Food and Videotape

A native of New Jersey with deep artistic and entrepreneurial roots, Pergola began his journey by producing impactful art videos and later moved into managing successful artists and creating unique pop art sculptures encased in resin, which he dubbed “assemblage plastiques.” His whimsical, relatable themes—like padlocks on bagels or grocery bags bursting with candy—brought smiles and commercial success, landing him gallery placements, celebrity collectors, and corporate partnerships. After stepping away due to resin issues and business challenges, Pergola is now rebooting his art career, reinvigorated by advancements in materials. He emphasizes experience, observation, and accessibility in art, and is excited to debut new works at the 2024 LA Art Expo.
